THE GENESIS- 2009
FDM Field Masters Sc was founded by Mr Joseph Assinyo in 2009 as a platform to nurture and develop the talent of the local youth in the Fadama area. Fadama being a slightly deprived neighborhood ignored by the government in terms of socio-economic development in Ghana, a lot of youth growing up do not have access to good education and after school programs. Hence Mr Joseph started this team to provide an avenue where such kids could channel their free time after school which was a great way to prevent them from engaging in social vices in the community. This team brought together kids of various tribes and backgrounds to become family and develop their talents together.
THE REINFORCMENT- 2019
A graduate of Field Masters SC, Abdullah Adam who left Ghana to pursue higher education gained full athletic scholarships at Lyon College and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he gained his bachelor’s degree, returned in 2019 to invest in the team and help take it to greater heights. Mr Adam upon returning not only brought financial assistance but also brought with him a web of network in the football world which has helped elevate the team and provide the players more platforms and opportunities to achieve their goals. The biggest highlight so far of the team’s achievements has been the transfer of a graduate who Mr Abdullah helped gain scholarship at Lindsey Wilson College and Syracuse University, to Leicester City FC in the Premier League.
We believe we have unlocked the right pathway for our athletes to achieve academic and athletic excellence both at home and abroad.
